The story of Jesus’ grand, though unexpected, entry into Jerusalem demonstrates the distance between our expectations and God’s answer. The bad news is that the crowds are going to be disappointed because they expected a political savior. The good news is that their disappointment will turn out to be superficial as the kingship of Jesus is universal and eternal. Jesus’ arrival at Jerusalem is indeed the beginning of salvation
